TEAC has announced the TN-400BT-X/TB, a limited-edition turquoise lacquer variant of its Bluetooth-equipped belt-drive turntable line. In a 13 February 2026 international newsroom post, the company positions the deck as a blend of analog playback and wireless convenience: Qualcomm aptX Adaptive transmission to headphones or speakers, a factory-fitted Audio-Technica AT95E moving-magnet cartridge, and a switchable built-in phono EQ built around an NJM8080 op-amp so the deck can feed a line-level input. The industrial story is the finish — high-density MDF cabinet in gloss turquoise with gold-plated RCA outputs and machined aluminium hardware. TEAC’s international product table still lists delivery timing as TBA with worldwide sales intent; the TN-400BT-X/TB product page carries the full specification sheet.

Short version: Belt drive, 33⅓ / 45 / 78 rpm, aluminium die-cast platter, S-shaped static-balanced tonearm (effective length 223 mm), AT95E MM cart pre-installed, Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive, up to eight stored pairings, built-in phono EQ, quoted wow & flutter ≤0.2 % and S/N ≥67 dB (A-weighted). Footprint 420 × 117 × 356 mm, mass 4.9 kg. For another take on Bluetooth from the platter, see our Denon DP-500BT intro.

Limited finish and construction

TEAC calls out a gloss turquoise lacquer over a high-density MDF plinth, paired with machined aluminium knobs and feet plus gold-plated RCA jacks and tonearm contacts. The layout keeps the floating / decoupled foot architecture from the wider TN-400BT family to limit feedback coupling into the chassis. Visually, it is the same mechanical platform as the core Bluetooth TN decks, repackaged as a collectible colourway.

Analog signal path

The drive system is a DC motor belt-drive turning an aluminium die-cast platter across three speeds. TEAC emphasises a low-friction spindle riding in the published bearing stack for speed stability. The static-balanced S-tonearm uses a universal headshell with the AT95E already mounted; effective length is listed at 223 mm with 3–7 g cartridge weight window (14–18 g including headshell). The internal phono preamp can be switched for LINE output when you are feeding an integrated amp without a dedicated phono stage.

Bluetooth transmission

On the wireless side, TEAC implements Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive codecs- the same broad story other brands use when targeting headphones or active speakers that also support Qualcomm’s adaptive tier. The press materials note room for up to eight remembered devices, practical for households that swap between personal cans and a shared patio speaker.

European or U.K. street pricing may differ from North American MAP; use TEAC’s regional distributor pages rather than forum guesses.

FAQ

Does Bluetooth replace the RCA output?

No. TEAC still provides analog RCA outputs for wired systems; Bluetooth is an additional transmitter path for wireless listening.

Can I bypass the internal phono stage?

The press materials describe a switchable phono EQ for LINE output when you want to use an external phono preamp instead. Always follow the rear-panel switch position explained in the manual before connecting to an amp.

Is aptX Adaptive mandatory?

The deck will fall back to SBC or standard aptX when the receiving device lacks Adaptive support. Pairing behaviour still depends on the headphone or speaker firmware.

How limited is “limited edition”?

TEAC markets the turquoise cabinet as a time- and quantity-limited finish but does not publish a hard unit count in the international newsroom summary. If scarcity matters to you, confirm allocation with an authorised retailer once delivery windows firm up.
